
The Portable Tank Mixer can be connected to the tank bottom. We refer to this as a Tank Mounted Mixer. This process works by installing a stainless steel hollow probe through one of the racking ports near the bottom of the tank. The Tank Mounted Mixer is located on the outside of the tank allowing the operator to control the pressure, frequency of pulse and duration of the clean compressed air or gas. The Tank Mounted Mixer then introduces large bubble that break through the wine cap and stirs the fruit into the must.
The advantage of Tank Mounted Mixer is that it gives the winery greater control over the fermentation process and helps reduce the time to turn the caps. This type of mixer also allows for the opportunity to pre-set mixing times either eliminating or reducing the staff needed during off-hours. Additionally, the winemaker can begin to replicate the fermentation process from year-to-year.
